Kemess North

The Kemess North deposit is an exploration and development project that was acquired along with the Kemess South mine in 2000.  The deposit is located 5.5 kilometres north of the Kemess South mine in the Toodoggone region of north-central British Columbia.    Northgate completed its Feasibility Study of the project in 2004, with reserves totalling 4.1 million ounces of gold and 1.5 billion pounds of copper and proposed to develop the deposit to extend the mine operations at the Kemess camp for an additional 12 years.

Upon completion of the Feasibility Study, Northgate submitted its Environmental Impact Assessment report to the Joint Federal/Provincial Environmental Review Panel and underwent a three-year review process of the project, which has recently been completed.  For a brief outline of the status of the Project, please click here.
